E-Pimpin....I mean Online Dating
It has gotten so bad that so many people nowadays are turning to the internet to find their boo. I've had a quite a few friends that have met some decent guys online...but for some reason I am not with it...but I may have to it's not like you can meet a guy on the metro, grocery store, club, library, church...you get my point. It's getting hard to meet boos in the street but I still feel like meeting them online will come with the same type of BS. Another reason I am not feeling online dating is that I am not trying to pay to meet boos...its a recession.

here is my thing...
ReplyDeleteit is definitely a generational thing. I get into this with my son and my younger students. For some reason, they always want to have these long drawn out conversations through texting. I am not like "no, call me or say something when you see me." They never do.
it's an example of how a good number of people have replaced physical interaction with digital interaction. most people would rather write a lengthy email to tell me off then say something to me in person. I am sure alot of folks have had this happen in person.
SOme people prefer to date on line since it removes that physical intimacy and allows rejection to be less painful since one cannot really convey feelings through the internet (how many times have we misinterpreted a message via email or text? )
You raise a great point...many of my peeps particularily those that are males do insist on sending texts as opposed to calling. I'm cool with texts but I PREFER to just talk about it over the phone or in person...I am with you on that. You're right I can count on all ten fingers how many times I misinterpreted a message email/text.
ReplyDeleteI can see why online dating is so popular and safer so to speak but I've never been one for the easy way out. Call me old fashion but I don't know how I feel about paying a site to weed out douchebags and find me someone compatible...ya dig! I guess it saves time but I am not convinced!
